Lightweight prospect Ryan ‘Blue-Chip’ Martin Added To RI Show

NEW YORK CITY (March 20, 2013) – Tennessee lightweight prospect Ryan “Blue-Chip” Martin is preparing to enter the ring for the fourth time in his professional career on Friday, March 28th against the durable foe Justin Robbins (2-5-0 1KOs).

This past Monday morning Louis P. Dibella, father of boxing promoter Lou Dibella, passed away at the age of 90.  In addition to offering his condolences to the Dibella family, Martin will donate a portion of his purse to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

“I did not know Louis Sr. but I just want Lou to know that he helps keep our sport alive and our prayers are with him during this difficult time. Professionally, I feel this is a way to honor him and his family by making a proper contribution to the St. Jude Children’s Research Fund. Boxing, is a family and I’m confident this is the right thing to do.”

Back on February 12th, Martin (3-0, 2 KOs) outclassed Jose Del Valle by which he earned a shutout four-round decision in NYC at the famed Roseland Ballroom, promoted by Lou Dibella. Del Valle was the first to go the distance with the hard-hitting Blue-Chip prospect.

Martin, who now fights out of Cleveland, was a 12-time National champion, and is considered the most decorated amateur to ever come out of Tennessee. He recently signed a two-year endorsement deal with the sweetish underwear company Revolutionwear, Frigo and is among the young family of prospects supported by Everlast Worldwide. He’s the only pro boxer to partner with Athlete Originals, where he’s launched an original apparel line known as the “Blue-Chip Prospect.”

In September of 2013 he signed an exclusive multi-year promotional agreement with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. Veteran matchmaker, Sean Gibbons known for being involved in the development of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Julio Chavez Jr.’s career has been helping with the development of Martin.

This bout serves as an additional tune up for Martin’s scheduled ESPN Friday Night Fights debut in July, promoted by SMS Promotions. “In my 25 years of experience working alongside the industries elite boxers, It’s safe to say Ryan has all the tools in place to be among Boxing’s next greatest stars. I’m very excited for his July debut on major television; he’s a true Blue-Chip,” stated Gibbons.

Tickets for the CES boxing event are priced at $41, $76 and $126 (VIP) and can be purchased by calling 401-724-2253/2254, online at www.cesboxing.com or www.ticketmaster.com, or at the Players Club at Twin River. All fights and fighters are subject to change.

Per DiBella’s family they ask that contributions be made to: the Ronald McDonald House in Albany, New York (https://donate.rmhc.org/) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://shop.stjude.org/GiftCatalog/donation.do?cID=14262&pID=24671).
